As most know, I began my college career as a Nursing major. I left Biola and the nursing program in the Fall of 1998. I completed my degree in Kinesiology at CSU Sacramento, but never really knew what I wanted to do with it. I was directed into teaching, which I have enjoyed for the past 5 years, but have always felt a twinge of regret not finishing my nursing degree, especially after giving birth to Avery and feeling like labor and delivery nursing was what I really wanted to be doing. Now that I am a stay at home mom, I have been pondering what it is I want to do when I go back to work after the kids are ready for school. I decided to act on my growing desire to go back and complete my nursing degree. I applied to Cabrillo College's Nursing Program. I received a letter of acceptance today and now the wait begins. I knew when I applied that the wait list was 2-3 years long. That should be perfect timing for me and the kiddies. Avery will be starting Kindergarten and the other one will be ready for preschool. Hopefully, it will not be that long of a wait...I will receive a wait list statement and my placement in October. I am excited to see what happens in the future!

Wow! That is exciting. I also had a career in medicine in mind when I began college. I ended up with my degree in biology (which I enjoyed getting), but I've also wondered what I will do with this degree if/when I go back to work someday. I've thought about going back to get a degree in nursing...we'll see! Can't wait to hear more about it.
Jenni!!!!!! That is so exciting!!!!!! There is no way that I could do nursing. I am thinking about what I'll do....teaching just doesn't sound too exicting. It is so good to see pics of your family. Keep us in the loop, girl!

That is great Jenni. I've had several friends over the years go back to school as moms and I admire that so much. I didn't know you had that interest.
