Do you ever watch movies and wish that you could change the ending? This happens to me a lot and I often find myself watching the movie again in hopes that I can change the ending just this once to see how things could be different.
I absolutely love period movies. Some of my favorites are Little Women, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Shakespeare in Love, Anne of Green Gables, and today I can add another...Becoming Jane. As I watch, I always wish I could have lived during that time. I can watch these movies over and over again (as Jaron will tell you). I think I have seen both Sense and Sensibility and Little Women well over 25 times each. Thankfully, both of those have wonderful endings.
Anyways, I watched Becoming Jane and was so saddened by the ending. (If you have not seen it and want to, please stop reading!) I so wanted Jane and Tom to end up together! I know it sometimes makes for a "better" movie if the characters do not end up together, but come on...on a rainy day when your kids are both napping and your husband is working a basketball game and tears are starting to fall, you just want that happy ending!

A different ending, please!

I LOVE Sense and Sensibility! I just caught it on tv a few weekends ago and couldn't wait for the part at the end when he says it's his brother who got married and she starts crying uncontrollably. I always cry even though I know it's coming. Bella wanted to know what was wrong with me:)
Oh my goodness! I felt the same way! I LOVE Jane Austin books and movies inspired by them. Jason just bought me Sense Sensibility for Christmas. I was so sadden by the end of Becoming Jane, yet I still loved the film. I wish I still lived in San Jose because then we could have cried through it together. :) I miss you! Love, Kellie
HI Jenni!
That's so funny that you said you like the ending to Little Women because I don't like it! I still want Laurie and Jo to end up together... :-)
Jane Austen is my favorite! I could quote most of Sense and Sensibility and especially Pride and Prejudice (the BBC version)!
Who knew Jane Austen never married?? If I had known that going into the movie, I would have been better prepared. It was hard on my heart! The friend I took with me was upset for days! She still talks about it. I agree with you. Sometimes you just want that happy ending! I love James McAvoy (he played Tom) though. He's a great actor. I did like the movie even though it saddened my heart!
